EMDR therapy in Richfield and across Utah
Evidence-based trauma therapy delivered by secure video, using bilateral tapping instead of eye movements.
Sometimes difficult experiences become "stuck" in the brain. Even when you know something is over, your mind and body may continue to respond as if you’re still in danger. Past experiences can shape the way you see yourself, your relationships, and the world around you—often without you realizing it.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps your brain process these experiences so they no longer carry the same emotional weight. Rather than simply learning to manage symptoms, EMDR helps address the experiences that may be contributing to them.
Because Summer provides therapy through Telehealth, she uses bilateral tapping during EMDR sessions rather than eye movements. Tapping is a well-researched form of bilateral stimulation that is just as effective and works beautifully in an online setting. Throughout the process, Summer will guide you step by step, moving at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
As your brain processes and integrates these experiences, many people notice that distressing memories become less overwhelming, emotional triggers lose their intensity, and negative beliefs begin to shift. Clients often find themselves replacing thoughts like "I’m not enough" or "I’m not safe" with beliefs that are more accurate, balanced, and life-giving.
One of the things many people appreciate about EMDR is that you don’t have to describe every detail of painful experiences for healing to occur. While we’ll spend time understanding your story and creating a plan together, much of the healing comes from your brain’s natural ability to process experiences in a new way.
My goal is to help you move beyond simply surviving the past so you can feel more grounded, confident, connected, and free to engage fully in the life you’re living today.

- Anxiety and chronic stress
